  • Prior to purchasing a shed it is recommended that a firm, level and square base be layed. We Recommend two suitable methods:

Paving Slab Base

Timber Bearer Base

Providing your site is not liable to regular flooding, your Minety building can be erected directly onto a paving slab base.

When laying slabs, ensure that you consolidate a firm sub-base and then lay the paving slabs onto sand, gravel or sand and cement dry mix.

Attempt to construct the base so that there is a 50mm (2") perimeter on all sides of the base. An oversized base leads to the floor rotting

Minety pressure treated 75mm x 75mm (3"x 3") section fence posts offer a simple and cost-effective alternative to a paving slab base.

Make sure that the overall base area is level by removing any vegetable or turf matter.

Then, lay the bearers one each end of the base and at regular space intervals in between. Use a spirit level to ensure that each bearer is level to the next

It is also advised to prolong the life of your shed that wood preservative is applied annually to the shed to protect it from the elements
